Tributes have poured in following the “untimely” passing of Celbridge barrister, Jennifer King (née Morgan), who passed away peacefully on May 12 2025 in the loving care of the staff at The Mater Private Hospital.
Jennifer, from Celbridge, Co Kildare, was formerly of Kimmage, Dublin 12.
Beloved wife of David and much loved mother of Cillian and Hannah. Sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughter, mother Deirdre, father Jody, sister Lauren, mother-in-law Monica, father-in-law Harry, brothers-in-law Paul and Ken, sister-in-law Eimear, nephew James, niece Lilly, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
May she rest in peace.
Tributes paid to Jennifer on RIP.ie this week include: “So desperately saddened by the untimely passing of Jennifer. Sending heartfelt sympathy to her family on their unbearable loss. Jennifer was a truly lovely colleague who will be very sadly missed.”
And: “My deepest sympathies and most heartfelt condolences to Dave, Hannah, Cillian and the entire extended family. I had the absolute privilege and pleasure of working alongside Jennifer on TV licence cases. Jennifer was not only an exceptional barrister but a truly incredible person with the kindest heart and most infectious laugh who faced life with such unwavering strength and determination. She was simply sunshine!
“A devoted mother who absolutely adored Hannah and Cillian. I will miss our chats, coffee and laughs. It is particularly poignant for me that Jennifer passed on my birthday. Jennifer may your spirit continue to shine brightly from above. Until we meet again.”
While another mourner wrote: “My sincere condolences to Jennifer's family. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with both professionally and personally throughout our time at Kings Inns and at the Bar. She was an extremely capable barrister but always had time for a chat whenever I bumped into her around the Courts. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. RIP.”
And another added: “Monica,Harry & Family, it is with great sadness that i hear of the untimely passing of your daughter on law,Jennifer. To David & his children I offer my sincere condolences & prayers. My thoughts are with you all. Be there to support each other in the days ahead & hold dear the memories of all the happy times that will remain in your heart forever. Rest in Peace Dear Jennifer.”
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge on Wednesday evening (May 14) between 5 pm and 7 pm.
Removal on Thursday morning (May 15) to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am followed by burial in Donacomper Cemetery.
